Two Part Class
Part 1: July 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Part 2: July 27, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Class is limited to 6 attendees.
Join us at Humble Stitch for a fun and inspiring two-part class on the timeless Log Cabin quilt block! This is one of my absolute favorite quilt blocks and the Creative Grids Log Cabin Trim Tool is my favorite way to make them! This class is perfect for adventurous beginners ready to take their quilting skills to the next level.
We’ll be using the Creative Grids Log Cabin Trim Tool, which makes the process both easy and enjoyable—no need for super-precise cutting! You’ll simply sew strips and trim as you go, making these blocks incredibly fun to create.
In the first session, we’ll focus on learning how to use the ruler properly, how to cut your strips, and how the block comes together step-by-step. This hands-on class is all about building confidence and technique. We will complete 4 blocks together in class. You will complete the remaining 12 blocks at home and bring them to class 2.
In the second session, you’ll return with your finished blocks, and we’ll dive into the versatility of the log cabin layout. You’ll explore different design and layout options, choose the one that fits your vision, and sew your quilt top together. Please note- we will not be layering or quilting in class—students will finish those steps on their own.
Come learn, create, and quilt with us—you’ll leave inspired and one step closer to a beautiful, finished quilt!
Skill Level: You must be comfortable using a quilting ruler, rotary cutter, and iron.
**You MUST be familiar with using a sewing machine. If you bring your own, please make sure it is in good working order, has a full bobbin, a fresh needle, and a ¼ inch quilting foot.
If you use our machine, it will be ready to go. If you have never used one, please come a little early to familiarize yourself with the machine.
**We will not have time in class for basic machine instruction.
