Prerequisites: To ensure a successful and enjoyable experience, participants should be comfortable with the following basic sewing skills:

  • Maintaining a consistent 1/4 inch seam allowance.
  • Threading and operating a sewing machine, including basic stitching functions.

Materials Provided: Your class fee includes a comprehensive pattern, template, and the necessary batting for your table topper.

Participant Supply List: Please bring the following items to each session (unless marked as optional):

  • Sewing Machine: Please bring your own working sewing machine. If you require the use of one of our shop machines, please reserve it in advance as a note during checkout.
  • Fabric:
    • Center Focus Fabric: One fabric block measuring 11 1/2 inches square. This will be the focal point of your design.
    • Coordinating Fabrics: Five different fabrics, each measuring at least 1/3 yard. Choose fabrics that complement your center motif and create a harmonious color scheme.
    • Backing Fabric: One piece of fabric measuring 19 inches by 19 inches.
    • Binding Fabric: 1/6 yard of fabric cut along the width of the fabric (WOF).
  • Sewing Essentials:
    • Wonder Clips or Pins for holding fabric layers together.
    • Heavy-duty fabric scissors for precise cutting and small snips for trimming threads.
    • Basting Spray or a water-soluble glue stick for temporarily adhering fabric layers before sewing.
    • Thread that coordinates with your chosen fabrics.
  • Optional Tools (Highly Recommended for Ease):
    • Clover Hold it Precision Stiletto or a Clover Curved Taylor's Awl. These tools can significantly aid in guiding fabric under the needle and achieving precise stitching.
