Tilda's Winter Bird Stocking Workshop with Marie

Create a beautiful holiday keepsake in this advanced quilting class featuring Tilda’s Winter Bird Stocking — a charming design adorned with a sweet little bird and delicate details. Join us for a fun and skill-building sewing experience that combines precision piecing, creative techniques, and Tilda’s signature charm. You’ll leave with a stunning quilted stocking to treasure for years to come!
This is a two-part class:
Class 1: We’ll focus on all the patchwork for the stocking front, including mastering stitch-and-flip corners using Diagonal Seam Tape (I’ll show you how if it’s your first time). We’ll also add the sweet hand-appliquéd berries for that special Tilda touch.

Class 2: We’ll layer, quilt, and bind your stocking, bringing everything together into a beautiful, finished piece. If you’ve never used a seam guide to add quilting lines to a project I’ll show you how.

This project is perfect for experienced quilters who are comfortable with precise cutting and sewing small pieces. Your kit must be picked up before class, and all cutting should be completed in advance — there are quite a few pieces to prepare!

Skill Level: This class is for experienced sewists who are comfortable with precise cutting and sewing small pieces with an accurate ¼” seam allowance. Your kit must be picked up before class, and all cutting should be completed in advance. 

This is an advanced class for those who are comfortable with cutting and sewing small pieces. Class instruction will include using Diagonal Seam Tape for flip and stitch corners and using a sewing machine seam guide.
**If you bring your own sewing machine please make sure it is in good working order, has a full bobbin, a fresh needle, and a ¼ inch quilting foot.
**You will also need a seam guide for your sewing machine for this class.


Included: Your kit will include a printed pattern, Marie’s simplified cutting instructions, all fabric needed, and batting. Your kit must be picked up before class, and all cutting should be completed in advance. Kits will be at the shop ready for pick up on November 2nd.

Materials you need to bring to class:

Sewing machine (unless you are using one of ours)
A seam guide for your machine
Rotary cutter
Small quilting ruler for trimming
Small personal cutting mat
Hand sewing needle for berry applique
If you have a small/mini/travel iron and mat please bring them. We will be doing a lot of pressing for the flip and stitch corners. We will also have an ironing station set up to share.
Your sewing machine (if you're not using a Humble Stitch machine)
A seam guide for your machine
If you're using one of our house machines, seam guides will be provided.
