November 14, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM

Class limited to 6 attendees.

Our classes require a minimum of 2 (two) attendees for a class to be held. Should we not meet the minimum requirements, you will be notified no less than 7 days prior, and you will be refunded for your purchase.

I am thrilled to offer a pajama pants class at Humble Stitch! This class is ideal for confident beginners who are ready to build their sewing skills. You will learn how to assemble and sew pajama pants, create an elastic waistband, and hem your pants. Each student will make one pair in either an adult or child’s size.

We will use traditional sewing machines, and two sergers will also be available for students to try. If you have been curious about using a serger, this is a fantastic opportunity to see how one works! If you have your own, you may also bring that instead of your sewing machine. PLEASE let me know if you ARE bringing a serger.

The pattern we will be using is a free pattern, and all students will be given the information to download the pattern themselves for future use. This class will not cover in depth how to read and assemble printed pdf patterns, but we can give a brief overview of how it is done.

Important: This class requires preparation before class. Please read carefully.

Your fabric will be cut for you before class so we can focus on sewing. Please complete the following steps:

  1. Email your measurements. After registering, email marketing@humblestitch.com with the waist, hip, and inseam measurements of the person who will wear the pants. Instructions for taking these measurements are provided at the bottom of this listing.

  2. Watch for your fabric requirements. Once I receive your measurements, I will contact you with the amount of fabric needed for your selected size.

  3. Have your fabric at Humble Stitch by October 23. You may purchase fabric at the shop or bring your own. Please clearly label your fabric with your name.

At class, you will receive your pre-cut fabric pieces along with any unused fabric.

I look forward to sewing with you!

How to Take Your Measurements

Use a flexible measuring tape and measure over underwear or thin, fitted clothing. Stand naturally without holding your breath or pulling in your stomach. Keep the tape snug but comfortable—it should not dig into your skin.

  • Waist: Measure around your natural waist, usually the narrowest part of your torso, above your belly button. If you are unsure where it is, bend gently to one side—the crease marks your natural waist. Keep the tape level all the way around.

  • Hips: With your feet together, measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom. Keep the tape level and avoid pulling it tight.

  • Inseam: Measure from your crotch down the inside of your leg to where you would like your pajama pants to end. Having someone help can make this easier. You can also measure a pair of pants that fits well: lay them flat and measure along the inside leg seam from the crotch seam to the bottom of the hem.
