This Jelly Roll Tote Bag is sure to become a favorite!
In this class, you will learn how to create a jelly roll tube—the same technique used to make popular jelly roll rugs. Once your tube is complete, we will shape and stitch it into a beautiful, sturdy tote bag. Students will provide their own jelly roll fabric.
There are two registration options for this class. All participants will receive the jelly roll batting needed for the project.
- Class Only: Choose this option if you already own a tube maker.
- Class + Tube Maker: Choose this option if you need a tube maker for class.
Class Preparation:
Before class, please sew 27 jelly roll strips together end to end to create one continuous strip. Do not sew the strips side by side. They must be joined end to end so they are ready to use during class.
Skill Level:
Students should have basic sewing experience, be comfortable using a sewing machine, and be able to sew an accurate seam allowance.
What to bring to class:
Jelly Roll strips pre-sewn (27)
2 additional jelly roll strips (not sewn) for the straps
Sharp scissors
Tube Maker (if bringing your own)
Sewing Machine (if bringing your own)

Batting roll
Tube Maker (if purchasing the class option provided)
